THE MECHANICS OF THE BACK – Back Mechanic – by Stuart McGill

“The mechanics of the back”, translated into Italian for the first time. The only manual in our language for back care: the ABC of autonomous patient management, to protect yourself from lumbar, dorsal, and cervical pain. Dr. McGill, Professor of Spinal Biomechanics in the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo, Canada, has been researching spinal stability for decades, but it is his technical approach that makes the difference.

Developing one’s knowledge regarding injury prevention, and taking care of one’s health actively and continuously, without intervening only in cases of “emergency” and pain: this is the key to the Canadian doctors’ studies and experiments on top-level athletes and patients common. The back is the first part of the body where stress accumulates and is therefore the first to suffer from ailments due to the routine of daily life.

With a manual, we will finally be able to better understand the operating mechanisms and systems to prevent injuries and pain. In Italy, to enhance its scientific eminence, comes the translation of Dr. Barbieri: medical director of the ATLAS “Prevention, Treatment and Training” center. Atlas is the only studio in Italy to make a team of specialists from the medical and training area available to the client, to treat and improve the bio-mechanical movement of our body.
